Improvement in Experience Modification Rate

Juan Ramos Joins Alta Management Team
Juan Ramos has joined Alta Drywall and now we have someone whose primary focus is safety. We expect to see increased improvement in our EMR and a even safer environment for employees. Juan comes to us from one of our very best customers “Standard Pacific” and was made available due to cut backs they found necessary. We had worked with Juan and knew the quality individual he is, so we scooped him up and brought him into the fold.

Alta Drywall is Going Virtual
We’re fishing, searching for new opportunities. Doing all kinds of things we rarely get the opportunity to do. How about this? We’ve closed our Escondido office, but simultaneously opened 5 new satellite offices and are now completely Virtual. Through networking, partnering and sharing expenses with trades and suppliers we are able to reduce cost to the customer, expand geographically and set up business in areas once thought to be beyond our reach.

Conversion to High Crews Underway in 2009
Alta Drywall recently purchased flatbed vehicles and equipped them with all necessary equipment for OSHA compliance as well as set up training for a limited number of certified individuals who will do all future high-work. This move is a huge improvement over the current model throughout our industry. Most companies have everyone doing high work and equipment scattered all over their projects. This is not compliant and is not efficient. Alta's new approach offers numerous efficiencies which enhance safety, reduce waste, as well as providing savings to our customers. |

All Employees Attend Mandatory Video Orientation and Skills Training
Each and every Alta employee recently attended mandatory new-hire video orientations and skills training videos. The videos, produced by Alta managers in Spanish and English, provided customized training specific to each department. Topics covered included jobsite safety, cleanliness, regulations that affect our customers, and materials waste reduction. In the future every new hire will view this material during our new hire orientations.

OSHA Scaffold and Lift Training Completed
Alta Drywall personnel have completed OSHA-approved training classes for high work using boom lifts, scissor lifts, and scaffolding. |
